Landlord Pro is designed to help landlords organise their
UK property records, understand their property
figures and prepare information for their wider tax position.
Your overall tax position can also include employment income,
pensions, savings and other sources of income. Keep your relevant
supporting documents, such as P60s, receipts and statements,
alongside your property records so you have the information
needed for your Self Assessment responsibilities.
Illustrative Property Tax
£0.00
This is a simplified illustration only. It is not a tax calculation or professional tax advice.
This illustration uses a simplified basic-rate example. Actual Income Tax can depend on your Personal Allowance, tax bands, other income, losses, reliefs and other circumstances. Residential finance-cost relief is subject to specific rules and is not simply deducted from rental profit.
Why Keep Records?
Keep accurate records of your property income and
expenses, together with the supporting documents used
to prepare your tax return.
Where Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies,
landlords must create and store digital records of
relevant UK property income and expenses.
Keep Supporting Documents
Digital records are not a replacement for every supporting document. Keep original records or suitable copies of documents such as receipts, invoices and bank statements used to prepare your tax return.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax requires relevant individuals to keep digital records and, where applicable, use compatible software to send quarterly updates and complete their tax return.
The current staged qualifying-income thresholds are £50,000 from April 2026, £30,000 from April 2027 and £20,000 from April 2028. Eligibility depends on the applicable rules and circumstances.
Your qualifying income is based on relevant income from self-employment and property before expenses. Other income, such as employment income, pensions, savings and dividends, can affect your wider tax position even though it is not included in the qualifying-income test in the same way.
Always check the latest HMRC guidance for your individual circumstances. Landlord Pro is a software tool and does not provide professional tax or accounting advice.
